Call for Nominations #2026TDLAwards
We are thrilled to announce that the nomination period for the 2026 Texas Digital Library (TDL) Awards is now officially open!
Each year, the TDL Awards honor Texas-based individuals and groups that have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of digital libraries. An affiliation with a TDL member institution is not a requirement for most award categories, so please consider nominating deserving colleagues across the state. The exception is the Service Award, which is determined by TDL staff to honor a TDL member who has made significant contributions to the consortium.
This is your chance to shine a spotlight on the innovative projects, impactful leadership, and trailblazing efforts happening within our community.
Key Details
- Deadline for Nominations: Monday, February 9, 2026
- Eligibility: Nominees (or at least one member for a group) must be based in Texas or affiliated with a Texas institution and contribute to digital scholarship or content preservation/management/access. Affiliation with a TDL member institution is not required.
- Self-Nominations: Accepted and encouraged.
- Winners Receive: Complimentary registration to TCDL 2026 and recognition at the conference.
- TCDL 2026 Dates: June 2-4, 2026, in Austin, Texas.
Award Categories
This year’s categories include:
- Excellence Award: Honors projects showing excellence in digital curation or scholarship.
- Individual Impact Award: Celebrates individuals for leadership in digital initiatives and/or developing professionals.
- Outreach Award: Recognizes efforts to share digital collections or build awareness of digital library work.
- Scholarly Communication Impact Award: Honors leadership or advancement in scholarly communication.
- Student Excellence Award: Honors student work in digital library practices. Nominations are open to students from Texas-based libraries and academic institutions.
- Trailblazer Award: Honors innovative use of limited resources for digital collections.
- Service Award: Honors significant contributions to the TDL consortium by members. Nominations are determined by TDL staff and are not open to public submission.
How to Nominate
Submit nominations using the official TDL Awards Nomination Form, providing nominee and nominator contact information, and a justification statement. Supporting documentation is optional.
We encourage nominations from all backgrounds.
