Digital Preservation Interest Group
Description
This meeting is open to anyone interested in TDL’s and Texas digital preservation efforts and helping us to strengthen our impact by including more voices.
Meetings
TDL Digital Preservation Services Users and other Texas-based workers interested in digital preservation topics meet quarterly on the third Thursday of the month from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM.

DSpace Users Group
Description
Texas Digital Library’s DSpace Users Group (DUG) works to create an active community among DSpace users that:
- facilitates mutual support for DSpace use and repository management;
- identifies areas of work that could be taken on by member working groups or by TDL staff;
- connects the TDL DSpace user community to the larger open source DSpace community in North America.
Meetings
TDL’s DUG meets monthly every fourth Monday of the month from 3pm – 4pm, CST.
How to join
Any users of DSpace can join the users group, regardless of affiliation with TDL. The group shares updates and information about training and events at our monthly meetings and through the TDL DSpace Users Group Email List. Click here to join the DUG email list.
GIS Interest Group
Description
TDL’s GIS Interest Group (GISIG) seeks to develop a Community of Practice around geographic information systems (GIS) and become a source of expertise for all Texas Digital Library consortium members and partners.

Harmful Content and Description Interest Group

Description
The TDL Harmful Content and Description Interest Group aims to help members mitigate harm and implement just and ethical practices in library and archives collections. The interest group provides a venue for discussion and development of best practices around topics such as addressing harmful content and language and implementing inclusive and reparative metadata practices.

Imaging Group

Description
The mission of the TDL Imaging Group is to create and exchange information on both basic and advanced digital imaging and digitization best practices, in addition to establishing an open and inclusive environment for the exchange of information regionally, within the state of Texas, and surrounding areas.
Meetings
TDL’s Imaging Group hosts quarterly virtual meetings and other occasional meet-ups. They use the email list to exchange information about those meetings and other resources.

OER User Group
Description
The TDL OER Users Group (OUG) encourages the widespread use of open educational resources (OER) across Texas institutions by creating opportunities for open education advocates and practitioners to come together to exchange information and create resources for TDL members and the broader OER community.

OJS User Group
Description
Purpose of the group | The TDL OJS User Group works to create an active community among TDL’s users of the Open Journal System hosting service in the following ways:
- By facilitating mutual support among library managers of the OJS hosting service, including the sharing of resources about library publishing policies and good practices
- By facilitating better communication between TDL staff and libraries using this service
- By identifying areas of work that could be undertaken by member-led working groups

The OJS User Group meets monthly every first Thursday of the month from 10-11AM CST.

Open Knowledge [Access] Interest Group
Description
The TDL Open Knowledge [Access] Interest Group provides a community for exploring topics related to Open Access broadly interpreted to encompass the traditional definition of Open Access (free, online access to research outputs using open licenses) and the ways that the principles of OA intersect with other flavors of “open” (e.g. Open Science, Open Research, or Open Education).
