This year’s Texas Conference on Digital Libraries (TCDL) theme, Finding Joy! Playful Innovation and Community in Action, is not just something we will talk about – it is something you will get to experience!
We are excited to introduce TCDL 2026 Treasure Hunt Game, a playful, self-paced game woven throughout the conference. Designed to spark curiosity, connection, and reflection, the game invites you to discover Joy Stops across the venue, each one offering a brief reflection on joy and a simple invitation to engage.
At every stop, you will have the opportunity to create a “Joy Nugget,” a word, photo, thought, or creative expression that captures your experience in that moment. You can participate on your own or with colleagues, start anywhere, and move at your own pace. There is no pressure to complete everything – just space to notice, explore, and play.
The full experience will launch at the conference, when QR codes placed throughout the venue unlock each Joy Stop. For now, you can visit the game homepage to learn how it works and get a sneak peek at what awaits.
