TDL Welcomes New Member Lamar University

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Digital Library (TDL) is proud to announce that Lamar University has joined the consortium as its newest regular member. This partnership strengthens TDL’s growing community of member institutions and affiliate organizations, all working together to ensure equitable access to and preservation of digital research and cultural heritage.

As part of their membership, Lamar University will utilize a comprehensive suite of TDL’s hosted services to enhance their digital scholarship capabilities. These services include:

  • Digital Repository Hosting: Providing access to the university’s research, scholarship, teaching materials, and digital collections.
  • Vireo Hosting: Streamlining the management and publication of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs).
  • Open Access Journal Publishing: Providing a platform for library publishing of Open Access scholarship.
  • Digital Preservation Services: Ensuring long-term access to the university’s vital digital assets.
  • Texas Data Repository: Facilitating the storage and sharing of research data.
  • DPLA Metadata Aggregation: Contributing collections metadata to the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) to increase the discoverability of Lamar University’s unique collections.

Dr. Vivienne J. McClendon, Dean of the Mary and John Gray Library, will represent Lamar University on the TDL Member Board.
